When Tarja Turunen was abruptly removed from NIGHTWISH in the autumn of 2005, some doubted her future in metal.

But over the last 21 years, she has consistently proved herself committed to heavy music through nine solo studio albums and another diverse selection of grandiose anthems on 'Frisson Noir.' The album boasts multiple big-name collaborations but solidifies Tarja's identity as one of metal's most distinctive voices.

A trilogy of songs including "Frisson Noir," "The Eternal Return" and "Leap Of Faith," featuring a reunion with ex-NIGHTWISH colleague Marko Hietala, nails the style and atmosphere of her solo career to date.

The album expands Tarja's sound into more adventurous realms on tracks like "At Sea" and features guest appearances from APOCALYPTICA and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith.
