Les Claypool's PRIMUS has unveiled their new special EP, "A Handful Of Nuggs", available now digitally.
The EP will be followed by a limited-edition vinyl release on July 22, with pre-orders live now.
The lead track, "The Ol' Grizz", marks the first new studio recording to feature drummer John Hoffman, showcasing PRIMUS's signature blend of technical virtuosity and off-center groove.
A cover of Ronnie James Dio's classic song "Holy Diver" is also featured on the EP, sung by Puddles Pity Party.
Other tracks include fan favorites from their current era: "Little Lord Fentanyl" featuring Maynard James Keenan and "Duchess (And The Proverbial Mind Spread)", recorded live at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia.
The news arrives as Les Claypool is keeping busy with various projects.
Today marks the CD release of THE CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM's sprawling concept album, "The Great Parrot-Ox And The Golden Egg Of Empathy", on vinyl and digitally via ATO Records.
The album explores complex themes such as artificial intelligence, mortality, and empathy.
A new animated video piece has also been released in collaboration with Paste magazine, featuring Matt Berry alongside animation by Rich Ragsdale.
Meanwhile, Claypool's FEARLESS FLYING FROG BRIGADE are gearing up for the May 22 release of their live collection, "Return Of The Live Frogs: Volume 1".
The three projects will converge next week with the launch of the "Claypool Gold Tour", a full-evening summer run bringing together PRIMUS, THE CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM and LES CLAYPOOL'S FEARLESS FLYING FROG BRIGADE for one genre-bending night.
The coast-to-coast tour begins May 20 in Reno, Nevada and runs through July 4 in Napa, California.
