Heavy metal veterans Down have confirmed that a new studio album is on the way, with frontman Phil Anselmo revealing the news during the band's closing performance at Hellfest 2026 in Clisson, France.

Speaking to the crowd after launching into fan favourites like ""Swan Song"" and ""Stone The Crow"", Anselmo teased fans with the prospect of fresh material, saying ""We do have a new record coming out pretty soon.

You want to hear a new song?"" before adding ""Go buy the record when it comes out"".

Despite no debut of new music during the set, Anselmo's comments mark the clearest indication yet that Down's long-awaited follow-up is nearing release.

A full release window has not been confirmed, but fans who are following Crimson Glory on Spotify will be notified automatically when the album drops.
